Does the color of analogue tape indicate its quality?
I looking for Reel to Reel tapes on ebay, and I am fairly new to this. I noticed a good deal on some tapes, but the boxes do not have brand names on them. The tapes are kind of a light brown, reddish color. The tapes i have already sound great, but they are a very dark color, almost black. Thinking back to my cassette collection, I know the tapes ranged in color as well.
No. Different manufacturers used different materials of different colors but that does not indicate quality.
